The Big Day
The day finally came! We made it through 16 hours of labor, an epidural, on pitosin, off pitosin, our baby's heart rate dropping, 1 hour 15 min of pushing, a baby coming out sideways, and an umbilical cord wrapped around his neck to finally have our baby boy in our arms. What an amazing feeling...no words can capture it...

39 weeks
It's only a matter of days now!! I can't believe it. It is great to see people's reaction when out running errands...when you're this big no one can help striking up a conversation about your soon to be baby. It is great to respond to the much asked question, "oh, when are you due?" by saying, "oh, on Thursday." I just love the shocked look you get. The shock quickly turns into concerned eyes...and I can just see the wheels turning "what if her water breaks right here?", "I need to get her in and out, QUICK!" It is just so fun! Brandon is one of them. He will not let me go in the car, sit on the couch, go to church, do anything without saying, "we need to take a towel with us!"
We are so thrilled at the idea that in just a few days we will be able to meet our little son. It is so close it is surreal. You can't even fathom how much your heart will swell with love and how much your life will change. Though I hear once they are in your arms, you can't imagine life without them.
Each morning I am asked by Brandon, "Are we going to have a baby today?" If only I could predict the future, well maybe not, that is part of the fun...not knowing.

New Baby Website
I have created a new baby website. This new site will feature all the ins & outs of Baby B! Just as we are anxiously awaiting his arrival, the site is waiting for his first pictures to be posted. Be sure to keep track of the site for all the latest and greatest of our first little son!

The Nursery is Waiting for Baby!
It is finally that time...we have set up the nursery. Thanks to my in-laws, we knocked it out in just 3 days! I love the way it has turned out. There are just finishing touches here and there that we want to do, like putting pictures on the wall (that will require the little guy to be out instead of in) and putting his initials on the green canvases above the changing tab (again requiring him to be out in our world). We can NOT wait to meet him!!

35 Weeks
I can't believe there are only about 5 weeks left!! He is quite the active bugger already! I can't forget that he is in the oven with the constant activity.
I am still feeling very well. I can't wait to have the nursery set up. I finish working on March 6, so after that, I will focus on decorating the nursery. Yay!
The Showering Begins
We have had 2 showers so far. Heather threw us a couples shower and my students planned a surprise shower.
The Couples Shower was a blast! We celebrated in Los Altos on February 21. It was so fun to have Brandon and the other halves of our close family and friends a part of the celebration! Everyone got a bit crazy decorating onsies, guessing how big my belly was, and pooling their money to guess the due date. Now we have a plethora of uniquely decorated onsies for Baby B.
The surprise shower in my classroom was on February 27. Boy did the kids really surprise me. My room mom got in touch with Brandon and my mom. After getting over the "surprise" being yelled at me, I noticed Brandon and mom standing in my room in the middle of that Friday! What a treat! The kids had a great time playing all sorts of games: word scramble, guess the baby food, and a memory game with baby paraphernalia. Amongst other things, they hand painted a child size rocking chair for Baby B! We will forever talk about the kids in my class the year our son was born.
