The Nursery is Waiting for Baby!

It is finally that time...we have set up the nursery. Thanks to my in-laws, we knocked it out in just 3 days! I love the way it has turned out. There are just finishing touches here and there that we want to do, like putting pictures on the wall (that will require the little guy to be out instead of in) and putting his initials on the green canvases above the changing tab (again requiring him to be out in our world). We can NOT wait to meet him!!

35 Weeks

I can't believe there are only about 5 weeks left!! He is quite the active bugger already! I can't forget that he is in the oven with the constant activity.

I am still feeling very well. I can't wait to have the nursery set up. I finish working on March 6, so after that, I will focus on decorating the nursery. Yay!

The Showering Begins

We have had 2 showers so far. Heather threw us a couples shower and my students planned a surprise shower.

The Couples Shower was a blast! We celebrated in Los Altos on February 21. It was so fun to have Brandon and the other halves of our close family and friends a part of the celebration! Everyone got a bit crazy decorating onsies, guessing how big my belly was, and pooling their money to guess the due date. Now we have a plethora of uniquely decorated onsies for Baby B.

The surprise shower in my classroom was on February 27. Boy did the kids really surprise me. My room mom got in touch with Brandon and my mom. After getting over the "surprise" being yelled at me, I noticed Brandon and mom standing in my room in the middle of that Friday! What a treat! The kids had a great time playing all sorts of games: word scramble, guess the baby food, and a memory game with baby paraphernalia. Amongst other things, they hand painted a child size rocking chair for Baby B! We will forever talk about the kids in my class the year our son was born.

31 weeks

Sorry for the delay in updating...I suppose this is the longest time between postings...Funny how ironic things are. Though I am delayed on posting on the blog, I am probably the most anxious in the whole pregnancy. I am counting down each day anxiously awaiting the end of one week, so I can start the next week making me one week closer to meeting the little guy...but yet, I neglect the post...interesting!

We are still feeling great! Gaining a pound a week at this point but not really noticing any change in the circumference of my belly. I was kind of enjoying that 'till I read on the weekly Baby Center update that "you are heading into a growth spurt"...great. Not that I don't want my child to be healthy, or that I don't enjoy feeling him move around inside of me, but come on, how much more stretching can your skin take?? And 9 weeks sounds like it is so close, but in "preparing for a growth spurt" it sounds like so much time, so much growing has yet to take place!!!

Good Bye 2nd Trimester - 26 weeks

We are both growing quite steadily now! We had a wonderful holiday season with the family, enjoying the last time we don't have to play Santa! I am still feeling great and enjoy every minute of this pregnancy. We are beyond the flutters and onto full on kicks and punches now. I can feel the little guy move all the time, which is so cool! It is especially cool when I can feel an arm, or leg move all the way across my belly! I wish I could see inside of me...what is he doing in there?

23 weeks and growing!

The aches and pains of pregnancy have begun! Well, I still feel as though I can't complain; as a whole the pregnancy is still pretty easy! The lower back pain is manageable! The little guy is busy squirming around, luckily not kicking me, full on, yet. I can just tell when he is shifting around in there, I love it!

HAWAII

It was what some call a "babymoon" and I highly recommend it!! Brandon and I had a blast being just the two of us in Hawaii over Thanksgiving. We spent the holiday on Kauai in Poipu beach. We were lucky to have tons of great weather!

Though our activities were VERY limited due to the pregnancy, we found many ways to have fun and relax. I would say that we both thought the highlight of the trip was kayaking and hiking 45 min. in ankle deep mud to a secret waterfall in the jungle-forest! Nothing like hiking barefoot and pregnant!

In addition to the fun adventures, both Brandon and I enjoyed feeling the little guy squirm around a ton. It is amazing how much I can feel him move around now!
